Our History

Miss Samoa QLD Inc. was officially established on August 24, 2023, and proudly launched on November 1, 2023. From the beginning, our goal has been to celebrate and preserve the vibrant cultural heritage of Samoa and the broader Pasifika community in Queensland.

One of our signature initiatives, the EmpowerHer segment airing weekly on Pasifika TV & Radio provides a dedicated space for Pasifika women to share their stories, struggles, and successes. Our annual Miss Samoa QLD Pageant serves as a platform for young women aged 18–26 of Samoan descent to showcase their talent, voice, and cultural pride. Through these efforts, we continue to build a legacy that uplifts and connects Samoan women across generations.

About Us

Miss Samoa QLD Inc. is a proud non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering Samoan women by nurturing their connection to culture, fostering leadership, and celebrating Pasifika identity. Through culturally rich programs and events, we provide a platform for young Samoan Tamaitai (women) to shine, lead, and inspire their communities. We hold strong values of honesty, diversity, and community, and are committed to amplifying voices that reflect the strength and beauty of our heritage.

Our mission is to empower and enhance the connection of our Samoan women to their culture, fostering cultural pride and promoting women’s leadership through initiatives that celebrate our pasifika heritage.  We value honesty, diversity, and community.

What We Stand For.

Supporting Our Women

We encourage Samoan women to grow in confidence, develop leadership skills, and embrace their identity with pride.

Keeping Culture Alive

Through song, language, and shared traditions, we help younger generations stay connected to their Samoan and Pasifika roots.

Sharing Real Stories

We offer safe spaces for women to speak openly, express themselves, and inspire others through their personal journeys.

Bringing People Together

Our events bring families and communities closer, creating lasting friendships and a strong sense of cultural belonging and unity.

At MSQ, we believe in the transformative power of women coming together to inspire, uplift, and empower one another. Our Annual International Women’s Day (IWD) event stands as a proud testament to this belief a vibrant celebration of women’s achievements, resilience, and contributions across cultures and industries. Since its inception, the MSQ IWD event has brought together women from all walks of life to create a safe, inclusive space where stories are shared, wisdom is passed on, and voices are heard. Each year, we are honoured to host remarkable women leaders and changemakers who share their journeys, insights, and the lessons that have shaped their paths. In March of this year, we hosted a truly inspiring event that showcased the strength and resilience of women. Our distinguished guests included:
  • MP Mulipola Anarosa Molioo, a powerful voice for women’s rights and political advocacy.
  • Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding, a champion of inclusive leadership and community engagement.
  • A local Indigenous Elder, who gifted us with profound cultural knowledge and perspectives, highlighting the strength and wisdom of Indigenous women.

More Than a Celebration

The MSQ IWD event is more than just a celebration it’s a powerful movement toward unity, representation, and empowerment. We proudly honour the diversity of our community, ensuring that all women are seen, heard, and supported. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of women leaders by encouraging them to pursue their dreams, uplift one another, and drive meaningful change. With each passing year, our commitment to women’s empowerment only grows stronger, and we look forward to continuing this important tradition  welcoming new voices, fostering deeper connections, and championing a future where every woman feels empowered to rise, lead, and thrive.
